How can we help?

Quick answers below. If something is broken or you have a question we have not answered, write to us — a person reads every email.

Contact

Email support

[email protected]

Tell us what happened, what you expected, and your phone model. For problems with the app, include your diagnostics from Settings → Support → Share diagnostics — it sends your app and phone versions and nothing from your chats.

Never send us your recovery phrase, PIN or SMS code. We will never ask for them.

Common questions

Answers

How do I sign up?

Install Voiid, enter your phone number and type the code we send you by SMS. Then choose a name and a username, and you are in.

Are my conversations private?

Messages, calls, media and shared locations are end-to-end encrypted. Our servers relay encrypted data and cannot read your messages or hear your calls. The full breakdown, including what is not encrypted, is on our privacy page.

What if I lose my phone or get a new one?

Restore your chats from an encrypted backup using your PIN or your 24-word recovery phrase. Keep your recovery phrase safe: we cannot recover a backup without one of them.

Set up your backup before you need it, in Settings → Backup & Recovery. You cannot create one after your device is gone.

How do linked devices work?

A linked device gets its own keys and can read messages from the moment it is linked, not earlier ones. See and unlink your devices in Settings → Devices.

How do I check a chat is really end-to-end encrypted?

Open the chat, tap the person’s name, then Verify safety number. Compare the security code with theirs in person, or scan their QR code. If the codes match, nobody is in between.

Messages or calls are not arriving.

Make sure Voiid is updated and allowed to send notifications (iPhone: Settings → Notifications → Voiid; Android: Settings → Apps → Voiid → Notifications).

If it still happens, email us with your diagnostics from Settings → Support → Share diagnostics. They contain your app and phone versions, never your messages.

How do I block or report someone?

Open the chat, tap their name, and choose Block or Report. Blocked people cannot message or call you. In a community, use Report on the post or comment.

How do I delete my account?

Open Settings, tap your profile at the top, then Delete my account. Deletion starts a real erasure of your account data and uploaded media; it cannot be undone. Your encrypted chats on other people’s phones stay with them.
